3 Tips for Your Upcoming Studio Newborn Session

I understand that the transition of bringing a newborn home for the first time is insanely hard. That is why I want to take all the stress out of prepping for your newborn photoshoot - to make it as easy (and predictable) for you as possible. Take a look at my top 3 tips for your upcoming studio newborn session.

  1. Keep things simple: Don’t overstress the fancy outfits. Keeping things simple will help minimize the stress. In terms of color, I recommend sticking to warm neutral tones. When it comes to texture, stiff and overly-structured pieces can hinder movement. Go with something that you’re comfortable in! Bonus points for Mama if you wear a flowy dress - (think like, maxi style!)

  2. Plan ahead: A few days before the shoot, pack a bag so that you’re not stressing the day of. I recommend bringing an extra outfit (accidents happen!), a pacifier, some extra diapers + wipes, and an extra bottle or a boob if you are nursing.

  3. Relax: I know it can be scary to hand your newborn off to someone new, especially for first time parents. But I can assure you that your baby is in safe hands! As a nurse with over 15 years of experience in an emergency room, I am very comfortable handling babies safely. Let me do all the work, while you take a break - or a much needed nap! :)
