Preparing Your Child for Your Upcoming Photoshoot

I often get the question, “How do I prepare my child for our upcoming photoshoot?” If we’re being honest, every kid is different, so there’s no perfect formula for this. That being said, I’ve gathered some tips over the years, and today I’m sharing my top three! 👇🏼

  1. Prioritize napping and meals the day of the shoot for a happy kiddo. We alllll know the importance of sleep and a full belly!

  2. Talk about the session! Tell them how much fun it’s going to be, that they’ll get to play games with Mrs. Katie, etc! If you make it sound like they will be having fun / doing an activity, they are more likely to be pumped up about it!

  3. Try on their outfits well before your session. This ensures that everything will fit, AND allows you to make sure your child won’t be triggered by wearing an itchy sweater or a headband that’s going to drive them nuts! Avoiding any preventable meltdowns is key.
